About the place:
A part of the Satpura landscape, Melghat is a large forest with an area exceeding 1500 square kilometres. Primarily a teak forest, Melghat boasts of a good population and sighting chances of the very endangered Forest Owlet. Other prominent species include Tiger, Sloth Bear, Gaur, Leopard, Sambhar, Chital, Nilgai and a wide variety of birds.
