Anuya is a well-known face of the Tamil film industry. Her work in the films like 'Siva Manasula Sakthi', 'Madurai Sambavam', and the 3 Idiots remake 'Nanban' has received both commercial and critical acclaim. Anuya has learnt acting at the prestigious Film and Television institute of India, Pune, and has been working in the industry for more than 10 years.

Anuya has been a nature lover since her childhood, and participated in various trekking expeditions during her school and college days. Later, she volunteered at the famous Snake Park at the Katraj Zoo in Pune, wherein she helped cleaning the snake-pits, washing the turtles and such other activities. Anuya says that all this helped her keep a connect with nature and animals which, in fact, is really difficult in the hectic life of a film actor. Recently she has acted in a film which has conservation of trees as its primary theme. Although she spends most of her time in Mumbai, Anuya takes good care of her terrace-garden in her Pune house, and religiously practises the eco-friendly methods of organic farming and vermiculture. Ask her from where did she get all this pro-nature inspiration, and she says instantly it's from her father, and that's why she never forgets to add a 'Y' after her name to fondly remember him.
